Summer is the hottest of the four temperate seasons, falling after spring and before autumn. At the summer solstice, the days are longest and the nights are shortest, with day-length decreasing as the season progresses after the solstice. The date of the beginning of summer varies according to climate, tradition, and culture. When it is summer in the Northern Hemisphere, it is winter in the Southern Hemisphere, and vice versa.

Martin Adam "Marty" Friedman (born December 8, 1962) is an American guitarist, known for his tenure as the lead guitarist for heavy metal band Megadeth which spanned nearly the full decade of the 1990s. He is also known for playing alongside Jason Becker in Cacophony until 1989, as well as his 12 solo albums and tours.
Friedman has resided in Tokyo, Japan since 2003, where he has appeared on over 700 Japanese television programs such as Rock Fujiyama, Hebimeta-san, Kouhaku uta gassen and Jukebox English. He has released albums with several record labels, including Avex Trax, Universal, EMI, Prosthetic and Shrapnel Records.
At the age of 14, after attending a KISS concert, Friedman took up the guitar, and is largely self-taught. He rushed to form a band and started playing original songs, the reason being that originals are easier to play than covers. "Because," he says, "even if you screw up, you just claim that the song is written like that and no one can challenge you." The mother of one of Marty's friends ran an event center with a two-level stage, and Marty and his friends used it as a rehearsal space. Soon word spread about their band, and, since they were in a rural area, people would come from miles around to socialize and listen to music. "Rehearsals" very quickly became live shows. Friedman formed and played lead guitar in several other bands, including Deuce, Hawaii (which had previously been called Vixen), and notably Cacophony. Cacophony featured neoclassical metal elements and synchronized twin guitar harmonies and counterpoints shared with guitarist Jason Becker.
He played guitar on the 1987 album It Won't Be Long by Christian rock band Shout. In 1988, he recorded demos for Jet Red that eventually were released as bonus tracks on the 2009 Jet Red release "Flight Plan". In August 1988, he released his first solo album, Dragon's Kiss.

Slang terms for money often derive from the appearance and features of banknotes or coins, their values, historical associations or the units of currency concerned. Within a single language community some of the slang terms vary across social, ethnic, economic, and geographic strata, but others have become the dominant way of referring to the currency and are regarded as mainstream, acceptable language (e.g., "buck" for a dollar or similar currency in various nations including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, Nigeria and the United States).
The five-cent coin is sometimes referred to as "shrapnel", or “shrappers,” as the smallest remaining coin in value and physical size. This nickname was inherited from one- and two-cent coins when they were abolished in 1996.
A five-dollar note is known colloquially as a "galah" due to its colour.
A ten-dollar note is known colloquially as a "tenner", a "Banjo" (relating to poet A.B. Patterson) or a"Pavarotti" (Luciano Pavarotti being a tenor, and "tenor" being a homophone for "tenner").
A twenty-dollar note is known colloquially as a "lobster" in reference to its distinctive red-orange colour.
A fifty-dollar note is known colloquially as a "pineapple" or the "Big Pineapple" because of its yellow colour.
Pre-decimal currency in Australia had a variety of slang terms for its various denominations. The Australian three pence was referred to as a trey or a trey bit. Probably derived from old French meaning three. The sixpence was often referred to as a "zack", which was an Australian / New Zealand term referring to a coin of small denomination, probably derived from Zecchino. The term was also used to refer to short prison term such as 6 months. An Australian shilling, like its British counterpart, was commonly referred to as a "bob", and the florin was consequently known as "two bob". Similarly, one Australian pound was colloquially described as a "quid", "fiddly", or "saucepan", the latter as rhyming slang for "saucepan lid/quid". The five-pound note could be referred to as a "fiver", or its derivatives, "deep sea diver" and "sky diver".
Red dog is a Japanese band, formed in Osaka in 1993, including 15 members, each member takes responsibility for different part, centering on Osaka University.

MOWMOW LULU GYABAN is a Japanese rock band formed in Kyoto in 2005. Their current members are Gary Bitche (Tsuyoshi Yajima): Drum / Vocal, Yuko = Katie: keyboard / vocal / chorus / gong, T-Margarita (Maruyama Tomoyuki): Bass / Chorus.Their crazy universe is inspired by the art rock and glam rock scenes of the 70’s. Mowmow Lulu Gyaban brings us beyond time with a reinterpretation of these musical styles. Those genres are refreshed through the experimental nature of the band.
Gold costumes with spangles, hairstyle affecting the ozone layer and insane underpants are central visual elements that constitute the universe of Mowmow Lulu Gyaban. It is common to see Gary Bitche, the singer of the band in spangle underpant during music videos and lives of Mowmow Lulu Gyaban. His cronies have also crazy outfits.
Their live stage is a combination of soul and addicts successively to unrivaled music overflowing Pop & Pesos! Once you listen to it, you may get crazy with funky and punk, romantic and exciting band sounds that will not stick around when you listen, skillfully cringing in your chest, high melodic sense that bursts out tears!
If you watched some of the MV dotting this article you have seen that the formation fo Mowmow Lulu Gyaban is rather atypical. First of all the singer Gary Bitche is also the band’s drummer. Finally, there is no trace of guitar on the songs of this rock trio from Kyoto. Indeed, the other two members of Mowmow Lulu Gyaban are T-Margarita, the bassit, and Yuko Cuttie, the keyboardist.
This strange set-up for a rock band comes from successive splits in the creation of the band. Indeed, the beginning of Mowmow Lulu Gyaban was cataclysmic. In two years, the band increased successively from a trio to a quartet, then a quintet, to ultimately become again a trio.
With so many upheavals, Gary Bitche, which was originally the singer and guitarist, had to take the sticks and abandon his guitar, while preserving its role as a singer. At the same time, this has caused the disappearance of the guitar on the Mowmow Lulu Gyaban tracks. Besides, it has certainly helped to direct the band’s musical style to the limit of experimental.
The original full album "Yankee and Kiss" was released on May 31, 2017. It deeply and stylishly expands the band's unique view of the world beyond previous works!
LAUGHIN 'NOSE is a Japanese punk rock band formed in 1981 including four members: Charmy (vocal), Lina (guitar), Pon (bass), Ki-Yan (drum). Since date of establishment, they have released some of albums: Meat market, If you don't mind pleased laugh, Go for it, Regeneration, Buttobase, etc,.
Laughin’ Nose isone of Japan’s longest running punk rock bands. They have a completely different and honestly extremely cool and refreshing attitude towards these old, forgotten-by-most concert videos: they upload them all to youtube themselves. Their channel, LaughinTube has well over a dozen of these old concert videos and not only bootleg ones, but also out-of-print official releases.
They formed back in 1981 in Osaka, in the golden age of Japanese punk rock and they’ve been active ever since, with only a short stop between 1991 and 1995. They had a lot of member changes over the years, but two original members, vocalist Charmy and bassists Pon are still in the band. And most importantly: the music. Think of the most typical and old-school, raw, yet melodic punk rock you can imagine and you know exactly what to expect. They never did anything revolutionary, they were never inventive or experimental, they were just always 100% true to their roots and they still manage to churn out great punk tunes nowadays, even 35 years after they started.

Dotsuitarunen is Senpai, Watoson, Yama-chan, U-chan, DaBass, Hama Kouki, F**k Matsumoto, and Kobayashi 4000. They play diverse music genres from punk, indie, hip hop, dance, funk to R&B. They formed in 2008 and not only worked on music but also photography, movie starring, fashion.
Since the end of 2014, the band established themselves beyond question as reputable songwriters with the handful of new songs included on their BEST HITS album, all of which instantly attained the status of signature tracks and live staples. At the same time, the band was on the verge of completing what is now their current lineup, transitioning from a loose configuration of four to six guys passing instruments and mics around the stage into a cohesive unit comprising four frontmen and four instrumentalists.
Their 2015 R&B/rap album Music was more of a stylistic detour than a logical installment in the narrative of the band’s evolution and their ninth album COLOR LIFE is the first true exhibition of what Dotsuitarunen has to offer since their metamorphosis.
Ogre You Asshole is a Japanese rock band formed in Nagano, taking influences from Modest Mouse, Fugazi, Talking Heads, and Can. They were signed to major label VAP in 2009 and have been praised by the notable guitarist Johnny Marr.

They produced their first demo in 2004 and went on to support many notable domestic and international bands including Asian Kung-Fu Generation, Foo Fighters, Art School, The Dresden Dolls and their biggest influence Modest Mouse.
When asked what he attributes their success to, Manabu answered, "I'm not sure. I guess it is because of our name". However, notable fan Johnny Marr said in an interview "I would love to play with Ogre You Asshole. I love 'em. They're not afraid to be poppy. Some guitar bands just don't have the nerve to be poppy and second-guess themselves, you know".
The band was signed to major label VAP in 2009 after releasing their previous work on their independent label OYA. Their major debut single 'Pinhole' was also featured on Nano-Mugen Compilation 2009 and as an ending theme to the anime Sōten Kōro. SA is a Japanese punk rock band, formed in Gifu in 1984 , centering on the vocal of TAISEI. A catchy melody and a singalong punk rock rooted in rock 'n' roll got big name recognition among punks, but the band disbanded in 1987 and with the support of strong fans, in 1999 TAISEI 's solo project, SA restarted.
After that, in 2002, the current members, who are the most talent members of the group, will move from the solo project to the band system and start vigorous activities. In July 2015, Their live at the first Hibiya Amphitheater was sold out, the band moved to Teichiku Imperial Records.
Stereogirl play an emotionally charged combination of alt-rock, punk and new wave. In 2014, high school classmates Anju (vo) and Kanako (gt) decided to form a band and they recruited Yuka, a talented drummer in the school’s music club. However, Yuka would only join if they included her friend Chamicot—a guitarist with a reputation at school as being ultra dorky and lame. Anju was fiercely against Chamicot becoming a member but acquiesced for Yuka’s sake. Chamicot, who was almost excluded from the band is currently the creative force behind all of Stereogirl’s music and lyrics.
Stereogirl started as an all-girl band but after high school graduation the original bassist quit and was replaced by Riku, a die-hard fan who frequented their shows.
Chamicot is a fan of UK bands such as The Smiths, Oasis, and Stone Roses while Anju’s favorites lean towards the US eg Pavement, Television, Suicide, Velvet Underground. Consequently, Stereogirl’s music and style is a mish-mash of US and UK indie, punk and garage rock with a dash of Japanese emo/shoegaze eg Kinoko Teikoku.
The members of Stereogirl are still university students and growing as musicians; however, they already have excellent stage presence and a killer live act that is packed with energy and soul. The songs may sound simple and derivative but at the same time ageless and incredibly catchy. Personally, their first ep ’ベイビー、ぼくらはL.S.D.’ stood out as one of my top 5 releases of 2018 and their new ep ‘NADA’ is already a shoe-in for a favorite of 2019.
Stereogirl have developed a decent fanbase through memorable performances at major festivals such as Summersonic and Otodama. In March, they’ll travel to Austin,Texas for SXSW 2019. Stereogirl is a young band that truly loves music and it especially shows when they’re cheering and dancing their hearts out supporting the other bands at their shows. The future for Stereogirl is very bright and they will blitzkrieg NMFT14 with fun, energy and passion in spades.

Japanese retro-rock outfit the Neatbeats (NEATBEATS) takes its musical and fashion cues from the sound of the '50s, sporting three-piece suits and channeling Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis, with the occasional Rolling Stones vibe sneaking in as well. The group was started in 1997 by guitarists Manabe Takashi, aka Mr. Pan (all band members have "Mr...." aliases), and Tosa Kazube (Mr. Lawdy), bassist Ura Dai (Mr. Gully), and drummer Kusube Shinya (Mr. Shenn). Manabe became the lead singer, with the rest of the band backing him on most songs.
Neatbeats debuted the next year with the single "Spoilt Girl" (1998), soon followed by the first full-length, Far and Near (1998), out on the U.S. indie label Get Hip, which also handled their second album, Mercurial (1999). The next album, Everybody Need, and the EP There Now (both 2000), were out on Deckrec, but by 2002 the Neatbeats got signed by Universal. Before that, Ura Dai left the band, and was replaced by Miru Seizen (Mr. Royal), who played on the band's fifth studio album, the aptly named Golden Goodies (2002), and widely acclaimed as their best record.
The album was recorded with the help of pianist Shirai Mikio from the prominent Japanese punk/R&R band the High-Lows, with whom Neatbeats played live, and supported by a Japan-wide club tour, during which time Kusube left, to be replaced by Kazuyuki Kuhara from Thee Michelle Gun Elephant for the rest of the shows. The band hardly visited the studio in 2003, but the period of inactivity was short: the next year they switched labels, moving to BMG Funhouse, found a permanent drummer in Asahara Keisuke (Mr. Shallow), and released a new album Attention Please (2004). Manabe worked in a bevy of side projects at the time, but that didn't stop Neatbeats from recording, with Big Beat Mind coming out in 2005, the cover album Rock'n'roll Christmas in 2006, two EPs in 2007, and the eighth studio album Roll on Good in 2008.

One day, after the completion of a luxurious sofa commissioned for the lobby of a new hotel, he realized that it was his masterpiece. Reluctant to part with it, he reshaped the inner structure of the sofa to allow one human being to sit inside of it. Inside the sofa he packed enough food and water for a few days. After instructing his assistant to organize the pickup of the sofa, he climbs inside. The sofa is then transported to the lobby of the hotel.
Over the next few days, he stayed in the sofa during the mornings and afternoons. It is during these times that he had his only interactions with the people who chose to sit on the sofa. They are often affluent visitors. He becomes very familiar with those people who stay there regularly. He even claims to be able to recognize people simply from the weight and shape of their bodies, as well as their smell. He confesses that often he has found himself falling in love with some of the women who sit on him. He repositions his body beneath them to make them comfortable, reveling in the comments people make on the extraordinary comfort and luxury of the sofa.

After 50 Cent was discovered by rapper Eminem in 2002, he flew to Los Angeles where he was introduced to record producer Dr. Dre. "In da Club" was the first of seven tracks he recorded in five days with Dr. Dre. 50 Cent described the studio sessions, saying:
The production was originally given to the hip hop group D12, but was passed on to 50 Cent because the group did not know how to approach the song. He recorded the track with only the drum beat present. Since much of the content on Get Rich or Die Tryin' was "dark", he wanted to write material that was "the exact opposite". He called the song a "celebration of life. Every day it's relevant all over 'cause every day is someone's birthday."
