Novelists is a French band founded in 2013 by the brothers Amael and Florestan Durand. After a short time Matteo Gelsomino, Nicolas Delestrade and Charles-Henri Teule joined with them. In November 2014, Novelists made their first European tour with "I the Breather" and "Shoot the Girl First". In July 2015, the band announced that they signed a contract with Arising Empire. The debut album Souvenirs was released in November 2015. In June 2017 Novelists released the single The Light The Fire . The release accompanied with the tour "While She Sleeps and Northlane". In September 2017 is the release date of their second studio album Noir.
For the most part, Novelist is discussed as a progressive Metalcore or Djent band. The music is characterized by "rhythm changes with fine guitar runs" and recurred melodies in the guitar playing without "losing the aggressiveness".
