Hiroyasu Matsumoto graduated from Gakuen Music College. In 2003 he joined the Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra as a conducting researcher and became a deputy conductor in 2006 and then started a career as a professional conductor.
In 2009 he was appointed as regular conductor. In 2012 as a full-time conductor of the Ryukyu Philharmonic Orchestra newly established in Okinawa. He was invited to Korea International Wind Band Festival sponsored by Korea Agency for Cultural Affairs of Korea 2010.
Also well-versed in brass band, he appears regularly in the Tokyo Wind Symphony Orchestra and Tokyo Keisei Wind Orchestra regular concert, performance tour, recording, and received favorable reviews. In addition, all of his CDs and DVDs released so far are highly evaluated. He has been conducting regular guest performances to the Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra, the Gunma Symphony Orchestra, the Yamagata Symphony Orchestra, the Tokyo Koza Wind Orchestra, the Tokyo Wind Symphony Orchestra, the Sienna Wind Orchestra, etc.
