Kodo Tour

鼓童 巡
Classic music

Kodo Tour is Classic music event held in Japan.

Sumiyoshi Yuta is responsible for the first production. The cosmopolitan music world that Kurokawa's Shishimai, Tokushima's Awa Odori, the local Tohoku regional performing arts, Sado's Onimushi drum, Shimane's Iwami Kagura, etc. casually woven in and re-created.
Songs that Kodo has played for many years "Miyake" further sublimated, songs inspired by the world's folk music, all songs are composed for this work. A new talent leaps to the world where Kodo is unknown.

Shimane Prefecture lies along the Sea of Japan coast, nestled in the shadows of the Chugoku mountain range that isolated the area for centuries. Today, this land of untouched beauty remains hidden, its charms, traditions and secrets only known to the few who make the journey across the mountains and through the mists; a journey that transcends time and space, taking one far away, down through the ages to a deep, spiritual world of myth and folklore...

About this area

Tokyo

Tokyo (Japanese: [toːkjoː] , English /ˈ t oʊ k i . oʊ / ), officially Tokyo Metropolis, is the capital of Japan and one of its 47 prefectures. The Greater Tokyo Area is the most populous metropolitan area in the world. It is the seat of the Emperor of Japan and the Japanese government. Tokyo is in the Kantō region on the southeastern side of the main island Honshu and includes the Izu Islands and Ogasawara Islands. Formerly known as Edo, it has been the de facto seat of government since 1603 when Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu made the city his headquarters. It officially became the capital after Emperor Meiji moved his seat to the city from the old capital of Kyoto in 1868; at that time Edo was renamed Tokyo. Tokyo Metropolis was formed in 1943 from the merger of the former Tokyo Prefecture (東京府 , Tōkyō-fu) and the city of Tokyo (東京市 , Tōkyō-shi) .
