Yuka Hanaoka graduated from the Department of Humanities and Sciences, Faculty of Liberal Arts, International Christian University in 2002. While at school, he served as a student conductor at the same Glee club.
After graduating, he traveled to the United States in 2003 and entered Mannes College of Music in New York. Completed the Master's Program in Choir Command Course at the same music institute. During that time, he studied as a conductor for Cantori New York and New York Men's Choir.
After completing a master's course in chorus command in 2007, he returned to Tokyo, and in 2008, he directed the Tokyo mixed choir. In July 2008, he served as a visiting conductor for Taiwan's Youth Choir across Taiwan, introducing Japanese and American choir works and receiving favorable reviews.
Conducted under the supervision of Kenji Otani, M. Shapiro, Daisuke Nagamine, Heiichiro Oyama, and Masatoshi Kanazawa and Akihiko Ito on music theory.
Currently active in Tokyo, Saitama Prefecture, Yamanashi Prefecture, Nagano Prefecture, and more than 10 groups including Gakushuin University Ruijinkai Music Club University Women's Choir, Sun Mail Core, Choro Brio, Ensemble Concordia, etc. He works as a permanent director and guest conductor.
