Mutsumi Komatsu was born in 1990 in Miyagi prefecture. She started classical ballet when she was a child from the age of seven at Kesennuma Ballet Society. She graduated from Contemporary Dancing course of Theatre department in Nihon University College of Art. While studying in University, she trained under Miyako Kato. She started work with Shintaro Hirahara since 2013. She publishes actively her own works, performs in music video, and collaborates with a lot of artists.
On the theme of the earthquake disaster in graduation production, a work dedicated to the late ballet's teacher [The sounding whistle is a signal for sailing], and the solo work are announced in 13 years.
In addition to Miyako Kato dance space performance, she participate in projects such as Hirahara Shintaro and MOKK, performances. Dances and photographs in urban spaces and in theaters that are not confined to the natural environment, and also creates works with video artists.
