Mari Moriya is one of todays leading sopranos. She was a Grand Finalist at the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in 2006 and won awards in major international singing competitions such as Cardiff Singer of the World (Concert Prize – 2007) and Belvedere Singing Competition (Hans Gabor Sonderpreis – 2008). Mari Moriya was born in Oyama, Japan, and studied at the Musashino Academy of Music in Tokyo (Master of Music) and at the Mannes College of Music in New York (Professional Studies Diploma).

In 1993 he entered the French Government Scholarship International Student as a pianist accompaniment department at the National Paris Conservatory of Music.
