Hikari is the second full-length album by British metalcore band Oceans Ate Alaska, released on July 28th 2017 through Fearless Records. It is the first album to feature Jake Noakes who replaced the original vocalist James Harrison, after the latter's departure in late 2016.

Oceans Ate Alaska are a British metalcore band from Birmingham formed in 2010. The band is currently signed to Fearless Records.

Oceans Ate Alaska was founded in 2010 by Birmingham University's students consisting of James Harrison, James 'Jibs' Kennedy, Josh Salthouse, Alex Hurdley and Chris Turner. The band debuted in 2011 with the music video 'Clocks' recorded through Great Escape Records and then signed to Density Records in 2012. They have released two EPs with the label. In 2014, the band signed to Fearless Records. The band was featured on Fearless Records' compilation album Punk Goes Pop 6, covering "Drunk in Love" by Beyoncé.

On 7 October 2014 the band released a new song "Blood Brothers", on 6 January 2015, the band released the second single "Floorboards", announcing the release of their debut album Lost Isles for 24 February 2015.

On 26 January 2015 the band released the music video for the third single "Vultures and Sharks".

The band was also confirmed to be playing the entire 2016 Vans Warped Tour.

On 16 December 2016 the band announced on their Facebook that they were going into the studio to record their second album. They also announced that they had parted ways with vocalist James Harrison. On 1 February 2017 the band officially announced their new lead vocalist, Jake Noakes, former frontman of the band 'Laguna Sunrise'.

On 25 May 2017 the band released "Covert", the first single with Noakes performing vocals. On 8 June 2017 they released a new single titled "Escapist". On 28 July 2017 the band released their album "Hikari" as well as a music video for the song "Hansha". In late 2017 the band participated as support acts for Wage War's "Deadweight Tour". In early 2018, the band revealed that they will participate in We Came As Romans' "Cold Like War Tour" with The Plot in You, Currents and Tempting Fate.
