Kehlani Ashley Parrish was born on April 24, 1995, in Oakland, California. She has described her ethnicity as a mix of "black, white, Native American, Filipino, and Spanish." Her father was African-American and her mother has been described as "mostly white, Spanish and Native American." She was adopted and raised by her aunt when her mother, who had a drug addiction, served time in prison. Kehlani's father, who also had a drug addiction, died when she was an infant. During her teenage years, she attended the Oakland School for the Arts, where she initially practiced dance, particularly ballet and modern dance.

Mayumi Ozaki has always been a focal point of Oz Academy events and storylines, with different variations of her original Oz Academy stable trying to dominate and keep themselves on top of the promotion. The stable has gone under many different names, including D-Fix, Ozaki-gun, Ozaki-gundan, and currently, Seikigun. At the end of each year, Oz Academy allows its fans to vote on different awards, including MVP of the Year, Singles Match of the Year and Tag Team Match of the Year, which are then presented to the winners at the "Best Wizard" award ceremony. Oz Academy is based in Shinjuku, Tokyo and holds most of its events in Shinjuku Face. The duo met at a summer rock festival in 2004; after swapping demo tapes, the pair decided to work together professionally. The band self-produced and arrange the vast majority of their songs, with Masaki composing the music while YUKA writes the lyrics.
Both band members were brought up on classical music, with Masaki playing piano and YUKA a keen violinist. Their present musical style covers various types of music such as pop, alternative rock, electronica, folk and indie rock.

LAMP IN TERREN (Lamp in Tellen) was formed in 2006, a Japanese quartet rock band. The precursor to LAMP IN TERREN was formed in 2006 by Matsumoto Hiroshi, Nakahara Takehito, and Oya Shintaro in junior high school in the Nagasaki Prefecture. After the withdrawal of Oya in 2011, their local friend Kawaguchi Daigi joined to form the three-piece band.
In 2012 they decided to fully focus on band activity, and created their name "LAMP IN TERREN" (formerly written Lamp in terren). In Latin "terra" means "star" or "earth". The band name was coined to mean the "faint light of the world". They released their self-produced EP voyage in September of that same year. In July 2013, the band held their first voluntary planning one-man live titled "BLUESYARD". In December, they won the Grand Prix at the contest "RO69JACK" of amateur artists.
On January 14, 2015, LAMP IN TERREN made their major debut under A-Sketch with the album silver lining. In October, founding member Oya Shintaro returned to the group.
