飲食店「くいだおれ」のマスコットキャラクター「くいだおれ太郎」のパロディキャラクターで、その姿は、くいだおれ太郎とピエロをミックスしたような姿である。全く喋れない（喋らない）キャラクターだが大阪プロレスの、お笑い部門の中核メンバーで動きや仕草で観客を笑わせる。正体はかつてI.W.A.JAPANに所属していた月岡 明則（つきおか あきのり）とする説がある 。
1999年4月29日、大阪プロレスなみはやドーム大会でデビュー。
2000年1月4日、王座決定戦に勝利して大阪名物世界一王座を獲得。
2002年6月29日、大阪プロレスバトルロイヤル王座を獲得。
2003年2月1日、大阪プロレス大阪城ホール大会で行われた、えべっさんとの大阪名物世界一決定戦「敗者キャラクター剥奪マッチ」に敗れて「くいしんぼう仮面」のキャラクターを剥奪される。デザインがあまり変わらないロボットキャラ「スーパーロボK」となるが、うやむやのうちに4月から元の、くいしんぼう仮面に戻る。元に戻った理由は「評判が悪く営業の仕事が激減した為」（えべっさん談）。
2010年4月29日、菊タローに勝利して大阪プロレスお笑い王座を獲得。
2014年4月20日、大阪プロレスを退団。

日本相撲協会が主催する大相撲（おおずもう）は、日本国内外における相撲興行のなかで最も有名な競技興行である。東京での開催場所は国技館である（詳しくは国技館、国技#日本の国技を参照）。
現在の日本相撲協会の前身として、人的・組織的につながる相撲興行組織は、江戸時代の江戸および大坂における相撲の組織である。大坂の相撲組織に関しては、大坂相撲の項目を参照のこと。ここでは、江戸時代以来の江戸相撲の歴史について記述する。
興行としての相撲が組織化されたのは、江戸時代の始め頃（17世紀）とされる。これは寺社が建立や移築のための資金を集める興行として行うものであり、これを「勧進相撲」といった。1624年、四谷塩町長禅寺（笹寺）において明石志賀之助が行ったのが最初である。しかし勝敗をめぐり喧嘩が絶えず、浪人集団との結びつきが強いという理由から、1648年から幕府によってたびたび禁止令が出されていた。
ところが、1657年の明暦の大火により多数の寺社再建が急務となり、またあぶれた相撲人が生業が立たず争い事が収まらなかったため、1684年、寺社奉行の管轄下において、職業としての相撲団体の結成と、年寄による管理体制の確立を条件として勧進相撲の興行が許可された。この時、興行を願い出た者に、初代の雷権太夫がいて、それが年寄名跡の創めともなった。最初の興行は前々年に焼失し復興を急いでいた江戸深川の富岡八幡宮境内で行われた。その後興行は江戸市中の神社（富岡や本所江島杉山神社、蔵前八幡、芝神明社など）で不定期に興行していたが、1744年から季節毎に年4度行われるようになった。この頃には勧進の意味は薄れて相撲渡世が濃くなり、1733年から花火大会が催されるなど江戸の盛り場として賑わいを見せていた両国橋左岸の本所回向院で1768年に最初の大規模な興行が行われた。ここでの開催が定着したのは1833年のことである。

歌手志望だった歯科技工士の父親（1933年4月11日生まれ）に、5歳から中学を卒業するまで、父の仕事場と両親が経営する自宅のカラオケ教室で演歌歌手の夢を託され毎日休まず猛特訓を受ける。他にも、音感を養うためにピアノやエレクトーンを、歌手になった時にサインを求められても困らないように書道を学び、地元では「のど自慢大会荒らし」と呼ばれていた。一方で優勝とは縁がなかった。父の躾が厳しく、門限に5分遅れたと言っては物置に閉じ込められたり、友達の家を行き来することもいい顔をされなかった。

2007年7月に『The trip』というタイトルの自主制作デモを作成。2008年4月、深沼元昭のプロデュースで11曲収録のデビューアルバム『quixotic（キホーティック）』をJULY RECORDSから発売。その後、2008年12月、元BLANKEY JET CITYの浅井健一のプロデュースで、メジャー・デビューアルバム（ミニアルバム：6曲収録）『“Catching!”』をリリース。浅井にとっても初めてのプロデュース作品となる。浅井健一は「Pretending」という曲でメンバーとともに作曲にも参加している。
2009年7月、セカンド・アルバム（ミニアルバム：8曲収録）『26times』をリリース。前作に引き続き、浅井健一がプロデュースを担当している。テレビ東京系「ゴッドタン」のエンディングテーマとして「Navy Star」が採用されている。

主なレコーディングは、シャイー指揮でヴィヴァルディ「四季」やヴェルディの歌劇「マクベス」「リゴレット」とプッチーニの歌劇「マノン・レスコー」などがある他、毎年参加しているペーザロ・ロッシーニ音楽祭におけるロッシーニの歌劇のライブ録音もある。

ファンクと言う言葉は、もともとは「土俗的」などの意を含む俗語（スラング）だった。語源としては、クレオールの俗語で「匂い」（転じて体臭）を指す言葉であった。『ファンキー』とは元々はファンクが誕生する以前にファンキー・ジャズ （※後述するジャズ・ファンクとは異なる音楽ジャンル）に対して使われていた言葉で、ブルース、ソウル、ゴスペルなどの音楽と並んで、黒人生活全般を指す面もあった。「素晴らしい」という訳語がある一方で、「悪臭のする」という訳語もある。ピーター・バラカンによれば、体臭やセックスの匂いを、ファンキー・スメルと呼ぶ場合がある。良い意味にも悪い意味にも使用される。以前は田舎の印象を受ける言葉だったが、現在は都会的な印象を受ける言葉である。このように「ファンク」という言葉は感覚的な言葉であり、明確に日本語に訳すことは難しい。

山岸潤史 (やまぎしじゅんし、1953年6月6日 - ) は、三重県伊勢市生まれの米国ルイジアナ州ニューオーリンズを拠点に活動するギタリスト。パパ・グロウズ・ファンクとワイルド・マグノリアスでギターを担当している。
山岸は1970年代初頭より、日本のブルース、ジャズ・シーンで活動している。1972年に、彼は永井"ホトケ"隆 (vo.)、塩次伸二 (gt.)、小堀正 (b.)、松本照夫 (ds.)といった面々とウエスト・ロード・ブルース・バンドを結成した。当時活況を呈していた関西のブルース・シーンにおいて、彼らは主要なバンドのひとつとして知られるようになった。
1975年、山岸はソウル・バンドのソー・バッド・レビューに加入。1979年には、初の自己名義のアルバムリアリー?!をリリースした 。

The quintet's current lineup features Ivan Neville on vocals, B3 and Clav, the double bass attack and soulful voices of Tony Hall and Nick Daniels III, Ian Neville on guitar, Alvin Ford Jr on drums. The band has recently added Alex Wasily on trombone and Ryan Nyther on trumpet.
Formed in 2003, Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk was initially put together by keyboardist Ivan Neville on a whim in order to perform a solo gig at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. Ivan called in cousin Ian Neville (guitar), the double-bass bottom of both Nick Daniels and Tony Hall, and drummer Raymond Weber (no longer in the band) to round out the show. The band was voted "New Orleans' Best Funk Band" in 2014 by OffBeat Magazine and Gambit Weekly, and has performed at music festivals such as Bonnaroo, Voodoo Experience, Hangout Festival, Caloundra Music Festival, 10,000 Lakes, High Sierra, Outside Lands, Gathering of the Vibes, Dave Matthews Band Caravan, and consecutive appearances at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
