Black Flag is an American punk rock band formed in 1976 in Hermosa Beach, California. Initially called Panic, the band was established by Greg Ginn, the guitarist, primary songwriter, and sole continuous member through multiple personnel changes in the band. They are widely considered to be one of the first hardcore punk bands as well as one of the pioneers of post-hardcore. After breaking up in 1986, Black Flag reunited in 2003 and again in 2013. The second reunion lasted well over a year, during which they released their first studio album in over two decades, What The… (2013). The band announced their third reunion in January 2019. Brandon Pertzborn was replaced by Isaias Gil on drums for the rest of the tour.
Black Flag's sound mixed the raw simplicity of the Ramones with atonal guitar solos and, in later years, frequent tempo shifts. The lyrics were written mostly by Ginn, and like other punk bands of the late 1970s and early 1980s, Black Flag voiced an anti-authoritarian and nonconformist message, in songs punctuated with descriptions of social isolation, neurosis, poverty, and paranoia. These themes were explored further when Henry Rollins joined the band as lead singer in 1981. Most of the band's material was released on Ginn's independent record label SST Records.
Over the course of the 1980s, Black Flag's sound, as well as their notoriety, evolved in ways that both embraced and alienated much of their early audience. As well as being central to the creation of hardcore punk, they were innovators in the first wave of American West Coast punk rock and are considered a key influence on punk subculture in the United States and abroad. Along with being among the earliest punk rock groups to incorporate elements and the influence of heavy metal melodies and rhythm, there were often overt freestyles, free jazz, breakbeat and contemporary classical elements in their sound, especially in Ginn's guitar playing, and the band interspersed records and performances with instrumentals throughout their career. They also played longer, slower, and more complex songs at a time when other bands in their milieu performed a raw, fast, three-chord format. As a result, their extensive discography is more stylistically varied than many of their punk rock contemporaries.
Frenzal Rhomb is an Australian punk rock band that formed in 1992 in Sydney, New South Wales. Three of the group's albums have entered the top 20 on the ARIA Albums Chart: A Man's Not a Camel (1999), Hi-Vis High Tea (2017) and Smoko At The Pet Food Factory (2011). Hi-Vis High Tea reached 9th position in the charts, sandwiched between two Ed Sheeran albums. The group has supported Australian tours by The Offspring, Bad Religion, NOFX, and Blink-182. Frenzal Rhomb have also toured in the United States (US), United Kingdom (UK), Canada, Japan, South Africa, Israel and Taiwan. The band has undergone several line-up changes, with lead vocalist Jason Whalley serving as the band's sole constant member.
Frenzal Rhomb formed in 1992 in the Sydney suburb of Newtown with Alexis 'Lex' Feltham on bass guitar and Jason Whalley on vocals. Feltham and Whalley had been school mates at St Ives High School in St Ives. Whalley had commenced a Bachelor of Arts course in philosophy at Sydney University when he formed Frenzal Rhomb as a punk rock band. The band was formed to take part in a battle of the bands and at that stage was not seen as a permanent project. The name is a reference to a band member's pet rat, who in turn was named for the Fresnel rhomb, which is a prism-like device invented by the 19th Century French engineer, Augustin-Jean Fresnel. By 1993, the group's line-up was Feltham, Whalley, Ben Costello on guitar and Karl Perske on drums. They played at the Sydney venue for the Big Day Out in January.
In March 1994, the band issued a seven-track EP, Dick Sandwich. Its cover had "a graphic drawing of the offending flaccid appendage draped over a sesame seed bun with lashings of bloody sauce." Posters with a similar image that advertised the group had them banned at some venues. National youth radio station Triple J criticised the group as being immature and told them to "grow up". The EP was described as having "good songs but it sounds like it was recorded under a doona" and had the group banned from some radio stations and retail outlets. One of its tracks, "I Wish I Was as Credible as Roger Climpson" (aka "Roger"), attracted attention of its subject, Roger Climpson – a Seven News anchor on TV – who posed with the group for a photo. The E.P also features fan favourites "Chemotherapy", and a cover of the TV series theme "Home And Away". The E.P featured an alternate cover depicting rabbits on the flipside of the liftout to appease record stores or people who may have been offended by the original artwork. In October of that year, they released a single, "Sorry About the Ruse", on their own label, How Much Did I Fucking Pay For This Records? The group were the local support act on the Australian leg of separate tours by United States punk rockers Bad Religion, The Offspring, and Blink-182.
No Fun at All (often abbreviated to just NFAA) is a Swedish punk rock band.
The band formed in the summer of 1991 in Skinnskatteberg. The group initially consisted of Mikael Danielsson (guitar), Jimmie Olsson (vocals, drums) and Henrik Sunvisson (bass guitar). The name was inspired by a tongue-in-cheek version of The Stooges' song "No Fun" as covered by the Sex Pistols, and the name of the band Sick of It All. The group released their albums on the Swedish label Burning Heart Records outside the United States. Within the U.S., No Fun at All's albums were released by Theologian Records and later by Epitaph Records.
In 1993, Jimmie Olsson left the band to concentrate on his other band Sober. He contributes on all records forward except Out of Bounds with backup vocals. No Fun at All then recruited three new members in Ingemar Jansson (vocals), Krister Johansson (guitar) and Kjell Ramstedt (drums). In 1999, Sunvisson left No Fun at All. Danielsson switched from guitar to bass guitar and Stefan Neuman, from Tribulation, took up the vacant guitar slot. On November 11, 2001, after ten years together and over 250,000 album sales worldwide, No Fun at All decided to quits.
Since 2004, No Fun at All has performed some reunion gigs. At the reunion show at the Groezrock Festival, No Fun at All announced that they would bring out a new album in the fall of 2008 through their own label Beat 'Em Down Records. On April 19, 2012 the Millencolin Festival announced that No Fun At All canceled their show at the festival due to their disbandment [1]. As of May 2013, however, the band is active again and will be touring Australia in November of that year with Boysetsfire, Off with Their Heads and Jughead's Revenge.

Dreams was one of the original prominent jazz rock bands in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The band was formed by Jeff Kent and Doug Lubahn, who wrote and arranged their songs. It began as a trio and evolved into a horn-based band over time. They were later joined by Will Lee, Don Grolnick, Bob Mann, and Eddie Vernon.
Dreams selected as their producer, composer and sound engineer, Fred Weinberg, whose work included albums for Eddie Palmieri, Tito Puente, La Lupe, Mongo Santamaria, Celia Cruz, Illustration (Alan Lorber's group), and Little Anthony. Phil Ramone, another highly respected producer and studio owner, for whom Weinberg worked at the time at a studio named A & R in New York City, gave his blessings to Weinberg to record and mix the Dreams LP with former Atlantic A-1 engineer Jim Reeves at CBS Studios in New York City. During the Dreams sessions the recording sessions were moved by CBS execs to their CBS Chicago Studios because the CBS 52nd street studios became booked for several weeks by Paul Simon, and because Dreams had a deadline for their LP release. The album received a full page ad[1] and a favorable review in Billboard Magazine.
Dreams' second and final album Imagine My Surprise was produced in Memphis by Steve Cropper. Cropper wanted to "help the audience to better understand the group" so in his production he put "funkier, more commercial rhythms behind [the band]" while trying to "keep jazz up front at the same time."
While Dreams did not achieve the commercial success of either Chicago or Blood Sweat & Tears, they served as a launchpad for eventually prominent jazz fusion artists Billy Cobham, Don Grolnick, and Randy & Michael Brecker (later known as the Brecker Brothers). Other prominent band members included guitarist John Abercrombie, trombonist Barry Rogers, guitarist Bob Mann (who later joined Mountain) and bassist Will Lee.
One of the principal differences between Dreams and most other brass-infused bands was Dream's emphasis on spontaneity. The horn section would "work up spontaneous arrangements by jamming, always leaving them wide open to interpretations from night to night."
Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll (born 11 September 1991), better known by his stage name Kygo (Norwegian: [ˈkyːɡuː] ), is a Norwegian DJ, songwriter and record producer.
He garnered international attention with his December 2013 remix of the track "I See Fire" by Ed Sheeran, and his March 2015 single "Firestone".
In late 2015, Kygo became the fastest artist to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify and by June 2016, he had reached 2 billion streams on Spotify.
Kygo has since released several singles, such as "Stole the Show", "Here for You", "Stay", "It Ain't Me", and a remix of "Higher Love" performed by Whitney Houston, all of which have debuted on several international charts. Kygo's debut album Cloud Nine was released on 13 May 2016.
He made history on 21 August 2016 at the 2016 Rio Olympics, when he became the first house music producer to perform at an Olympics closing ceremony.
In March 2018, Billboard ranked Kygo 3rd on its 2018 ranking of dance musicians titled Billboard Dance 100.
Kygo has studied piano since he was 6 years old and considers himself more of a pianist than a disc jockey. His music is generally around 100 beats per minute, compared to 128 beats per minute for traditional house music.
His stage name is derived from the first 2 letters of his first and last names and he got the idea for this name after a school computer system automatically generated the word "Kygo" as his login user name.
Kygo was born 11 September 1991 as a foreign born in Singapore, the son of Kjersti Gjerde, a dentist, and Lars Gørvell-Dahll, who was working abroad in the maritime industry. He has an older stepbrother Mads, two older sisters Johanne and Jenny, and a younger half-brother Sondre. Through his childhood, he lived and traveled with his family in Brazil, Japan, Kenya and Egypt.
Kygo started getting piano lessons at the age of six. He stopped when he was 15 or 16 and started producing music with Logic Studio and a MIDI keyboard while watching several tutorials on YouTube. When he decided to pursue music full-time he was halfway through a degree in business and finance at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland. He has cited Swedish DJ Avicii as his main inspiration.

Dillon Hart Francis (born October 5, 1987) is an American electronic musician, record producer and DJ. A native of Los Angeles, he is best known for popularizing the moombahton genre.
Francis was born in Los Angeles, California to an American father and a Serbian-Croatian mother. Francis has stated that his father, Robert Drew Francis, is an "alternative medicines doctor." He has made a recurring Internet joke about being unable to find his father. Francis has stated that he was very sheltered growing up, claiming that he did not know any swear words until he was 15. He also claims he could not watch TV unless he watched at least two hours of Sesame Street a day.
His roots in becoming a world champion and active globally were in his childhood. From the age of four, he has been playing piano and Japanese drums, and has formed a unique musical sense. Later, at the age of 15, he began DJing while touching HIPHOP culture. He has been active in numerous battles, winning three times in the “NoTricks DJ Battle” sponsored by Vestax and winning the Japan-Korea Grand Champion in NoTricks in KOREA at the 2010 “SeoulWorld DJ Festival” in Korea. Scratch then declared the main battle DJ graduation. While focusing on the club PLAY and expanding the range of activities, in 2013 participated in the world tournament as a representative of Japan in RedBull Thre3Style. Despite his first appearance, he achieved the world's conquest, the youngest in history and the first overseas DJ. This was the first achievement for both Japanese and Asians, and the name of RedBull Thre3Style World Champion SHINTARO was deeply carved into DJ history. He doesn't know that his momentum will stay even after the title of world champion.
Currently working as an artist / producer of GMO Culture Incubation of GMO Internet Group. His innovative play style, which consists of borderless music selection and technical scratches that exceed the genre, has been praised by countries around the world, and offers from overseas are unending. The great success of the European tour of seven major clubs in Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands, and the completion of major clubs in Taiwan in Asia. His YouTube channel is a DJ / producer that has attracted attention from all over the world for his future performances and produced works, including over 2 million views.
Though he’s now the world champion and is active internationally, Shintaro’s musical roots go back to when he was very young. At the age of 4, he first experienced piano and Japanese drums, which are what account for his unique sense of music today. When he was 15, he began to be influenced by the hip-hop culture, and at that point tried his hand at DJing. He was active in various DJ battles, won the grand prize for three years at Vestax’s No Tricks DJ Battle, and in 2010 became No Tricks Japan/Korea champion at Seoul World DJ Festival. He instead began to focus on playing at clubs, and in 2013 entered the Red Bull Thre3Style competition as the representative of Japan. He became the youngest World Champion in the history of the competition. Shintaro made a huge mark in DJ history, as he was the first DJ not from the host country to win, the first Japanese, and the first Asian to ever become the Red Bull Thre3Style World Champion.
Just because Shintaro got the title of world champion under his belt doesn’t mean he has any plans of stopping there. What makes Shintaro so special is that he not only he makes crowd go wild with his scratching skills, but he also keeps them dancing without killing the groove by combining his scratching with a smooth music mix, all while he blends different types of music (genres). He’s already achieved a huge accomplishment by a doing a European Tour spanning seven major clubs in Belgium, Germany, and Holland, as well as gone around Asia, concentrating on major clubs in Taiwan. After receiving praise for these shows, he has been regularly invited as a special guest to events in Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Shanghai, Beijing, and more. Besides playing in clubs, he has also been building up his track record in 2014 by participating in popular outdoor festivals such as the Amsterdam based hip-hop ENCORE FESTIVAL, and the Japanese leg of the world’s largest EDM festival, ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL, where he took the main stage. He has been highly rated by music professionals for being able to play across genres to audiences numbering in the tens of thousands.
Shintaro has received numerous offers from labels around the globe, and in November 2014 he decided to start afresh as the pioneering artist and producer behind GMO Internet Group’s globally focused agency GMO Culture Incubation.
In May 2015, his first official remix “BBHMM (Shintaro & YGSP Remix) / Rihanna” won TWRK’s Remix Contest, got featured on BBC Radio1’s “Diplo & Friends,” and is revving up anticipation for his upcoming releases. Shintaro is ready to show the world what he’s all about.

Parry comes from a musical family. His late father was David Parry of the folk band Friends of Fiddler's Green. His mother, Caroline Balderston Parry, is a poet and musician, and his sister, Evalyn Parry, is a singer, songwriter, and spoken word performer.
Parry attended Canterbury High School in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and was one of a dozen members of the Literary Arts program (first generation). His classmates include Stargate: Atlantis writer Martin Gero and The Holmes Show comedian Kurt Smeaton.
In the mid 1990s, he worked summers at a vegetarian camp in near Chelsea, Quebec, called Camp Au Grand Bois.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he studied electroacoustics and contemporary dance at Concordia University in Montreal.
The Bell Orchestre was formed in 2005, along with Sarah Neufeld, Tim Kingsbury as well as Stefan Schneider and French horn player Pietro Amato. Parry primarily plays double bass and is the de facto producer. Bell Orchestre released As Seen Through Windows with Arts & Crafts Records on March 10, 2009. It was recorded with John Mcentire in Soma Electric Studios in Chicago, Illinois. The album since won a 2011 Juno Award for best instrumental album.
A long-time core member of Arcade Fire, he co-produced and collaborated on the debut EP, Arcade Fire, before the first lineup of the band fell apart. Helping to reform and recreate the band, Parry brought in Bell Orchestre bandmate Sarah Neufeld, and New International Standards bandmates, Tim Kingsbury and Jeremy Gara. He has also made musical contributions to albums by The National, Little Scream, Sufjan Stevens, The Unicorns and Islands. On the latter's critically acclaimed 2006 album Return to the Sea, he played several instruments, sang background vocals and arranged strings, and appeared with the band's 2016 10-year-anniversary shows where they played the album in full. Parry has also performed in a cover band called Phi Slamma Jamma along with Arcade Fire bandmates Will Butler, Jeremy Gara, and Tim Kingsbury. The group performed at the 2011 POP Montreal Festival as well as the 2012 Crossing Brooklyn Ferry Festival.

The Heartbreakers, also known as Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers to distinguish them from Tom Petty's band, were an American punk rock band, formed in New York City in May, 1975. The band spearheaded the first wave of punk rock.
In May 1975, Johnny Thunders (vocals/guitar) and Jerry Nolan (drums) quit the New York Dolls, the same week that Richard Hell (vocals/bass) left Television. Thunders and Nolan invited Hell to join their new band, and Hell quickly agreed. Their first gig was on May 31 of that year, at the Coventry, a rock club in Queens. The trio soon added Walter Lure (guitar/vocals) to the lineup. Lure had previously played with a glam-punk band called the Demons.
In early 1976 Thunders walked out on the lineup, due to Hell's attempts to impose his will on the band and on their performances, and Lure and Nolan followed, so in effect the band left Hell. Richard Hell was replaced by Billy Rath. Rath's first gig with the band was on July 23, 1976 at Max's Kansas City. Hell then went on to form his own band, with his name prominent in the band name: Richard Hell and the Voidoids.
The Sex Pistols invited the band to open for them on the ill-fated Anarchy Tour (the Sex Pistols at this time were managed by Malcolm McLaren, who had previously managed The New York Dolls). Arriving for the tour just as the UK punk scene was building momentum, the Heartbreakers developed a following in and around London. The band's members and image were widely associated with drug use, specifically heroin. The Heartbreakers briefly signed with Track Records. Their debut, and only studio album, L.A.M.F. was poorly received (the title represents a phrase from New York street-slang and graffiti, "Like A Mother-Fucker"). The release of the album created conflict within the band, due to the poor quality of the recording and difficulty in the mastering process, the blame for which rests with producer Speedy Keen. Jerry Nolan left the band in the fall of 1978 because he didn't like the mix of the album (Nolan had had a go at re-mixing the album himself, but wasn't satisfied with the results). The band reformed in 1979 for a few farewell shows at Max's Kansas City with drummer Ty Styx sitting in for Nolan. These shows recorded and released under the title Live at Max's Kansas City '79. The Heartbreakers' 1977 song, "London Boys", is a swipe at the Sex Pistols, in response to the Pistols' "New York", a put-down of the New York Dolls.
The band had several line-up changes but was always centered on members A (drums, synth), dead k (guitar) and various bassists (T, Benjian and Margarette H).
In May 2007 their clip "Demagog" was number one of Google Videos "Top 100 Videos - United States" ranking.
The band got considerable attention for an experimental band with a small, but devoted cult following outside Japan, until it announced its breakup in October 2008, due to artistic differences between members A and dead K.
The band regrouped on February 28, 2012, with A, T, and dead k playing a single show at Kichijoji GOK Sound Studio.
According to the City Calls Revolution liner notes, the following instruments are used by the band:
Formed in early summer 2010. After several member changes, the band is now active with Shigeru Akakura (guitar, vocals), Shinpei Yamamoto (drumset, chorus) and Kei Ueda (bass, kazoo, chorus). At the same time, a project called LOOLOWNINGEN KOVITO ENSEMBLE, which is based on gut guitar and acoustic piano, is inviting guest musicians mainly from core members.
An entertaining blues for those who are wandering all ages.
LOOLOWNINGEN means "wandering people." We are a Tokyo-based post-blues band. We tour frequently around Japan and play to wild fans in Tokyo. ATSUSHI ... hey, LET'S ENJOY IDIOTIQUE BLUES!
Donnelly first started singing when she joined a rock band in high school (Irene McCormack Catholic College) that performed Green Day covers. After high school, Donnelly studied contemporary and jazz music at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts.
Donnelly released her first EP titled Thrush Metal in 2017 on the record label Healthy Tapes. In 2018, the EP was reissued in the United States by the American label Secretly Canadian. She released her debut album, Beware of the Dogs, on 8 March 2019 via Secretly Canadian. It received widespread acclaim from critics, including Robert Christgau, who praised it as a "musical encyclopedia of [male] assholes".
Before her solo projects were published, Donnelly was part of two bands called BOAT SHOW and BELL RAPIDS.
Thrush Metal was released to the public on April 6, 2017. The album consisted of six tracks that became immensely popular within the Australian public. Her relatable way of writing is her lens to the world in which we live, a glimpse into what it’s like to be a millennial woman in the age of Trump, Tinder and third wave feminism. The album was rereleased by Donnelly with label Secretly Canadian in 2018.
Donnelly released her first full-length album Beware of the Dogs on March 8, 2019. Donnelly's debut U.S. single Boys Will Be Boys debuted in 2017 just at the start of the "Me Too" movement was getting started. Atop delicate, singsongy acoustic fingerpicking, Donnelly confronts a man who raped her friend and takes to task the accompanying victim-blaming. “Why was she all alone?/Wearing her shirt that low/And they said boys will be boys/Deaf to the word no,” she coos in the chorus, a slight vibrato flaring up at the corners of her lovely voice. The song featured Boys Will Be Boys was included in the track list for the album. The album itself showcases an artist totally in command of her voice, able to wield her inviting charm and razor-sharp wit into authentically raw songs.

Since its inception in 2003, Black Ganion, the ‘super metamorphosis grinder’, has turned the voice of the voiceless into ear-shattering noise and screams, hurling them to the world. The knee-deep sludge rends itself into furious grindcore, and the chilly dub cuttings morph into doom riffs and chaotic murkiness. Their collaboration with GOTH-TRAD on Method is regarded as one of the first ever successful chimaera of extreme music and dubstep.
Still, their music is not just a showcase of musical genres. Their inconsistency in musical styles shows the true musical identity of the band. The same can be said for the listeners – they must abandon the stylized routine moshings, and free their instincts. Black Ganion on stage is an epitome of modern society, the feast of freedom and aggression.
Instrumental rock band from the United States. Formed in 2001 with a focus on the Grindcore band and Tasker Trevor de Brou et al. It consists of two guitars, bass and drums, and is a heavy and original guitar instrument that does not belong to any genre. In 2003, he released his first full album “Australian” and made his debut in Japan in 2004. Read the lyrical and dramatic continuation that combines beautiful melody and hardcore strength.
