The NNTT has been repeatedly criticized for its bureaucratic arts administration, which is very representative of usual Japanese politics. Although NNTT is financed by the Japanese government, major conductors, directors, and performing artists have all complained that their creative ideas are restricted by the bureaucratic style of the arts management. In 2010, the government decided to cut down the ¥4.8 billion grant NNTT received the previous year by half, and reduce the government grants to trainees who want to work and study abroad.

三津田健、中村伸郎、高木均といった俳優がよく別役作品に出演した。1990年代に入ってからは、日本劇作家協会の創立に関わる。平田オリザとの親交も深い。

ラサール石井（ラサールいしい、1955年10月19日 - ）は、日本のお笑いタレント、俳優、司会者、声優、演出家である。本名及び旧芸名、石井章雄（いしいあきお）。愛称はラサール先生。石井光三オフィス所属。
大阪府大阪市住吉区帝塚山出身。お笑い番組好きな家庭だった影響もあって子供の頃から三木のり平や大村崑の番組を好んで視聴し、コメディアンに強い憧れを抱くが中学時代に自分よりも面白い生徒に敵わないと感じたため、青島幸男の存在から放送作家志望に転向する。

1960年代から1970年代にかけ、関西の有名学習塾「入江塾」で受験勉強をし（遅刻防止のため住み込みで通っていた）、鹿児島市の私立ラ・サール高等学校に入学。しかし東京大学受験には落ち、上京して浪人したら遊びの誘惑に勝てないと判断して卒業後は早稲田大学第一文学部に進学。同大学ミュージカル研究会にも所属しており、大学1年の時に放送作家をしている先輩の目に留まったことがきっかけで自身も放送作家としてテレビ朝日の歌謡バラエティ番組『チビラサンデー』のコント制作などに携わっていたことがあった。

早大在学中に劇団テアトル・エコー養成所に入所。声優養成試験はリップノイズがあることとマイクに息が吹きかかる癖があるという理由で落ちている。その後、養成所で一期下の渡辺正行、小宮孝泰と共にコント赤信号を結成。のち先輩コメディアンのコント太平洋から誘われて本格的に芸能活動を始める。多忙で単位不足となり学業の両立を断念し早大から除籍となる（中退ではない）。

1990年代にはテレビ番組『目撃!ドキュン』（テレビ朝日系）や深夜番組『おとなのえほん』（サンテレビ）などで司会を担当。また、お笑い界きってのクイズ王であり『オールスター感謝祭』（TBS）など数多くのクイズ番組で優勝経験を持ち、インテリ芸能人として知られる。『たけし・逸見の平成教育委員会』では、同郷出身の辰巳琢郎と共に優等生として活躍した。辰巳とは、後にキリンビール「秋味」のCMや『決戦!クイズの帝王』でも共演している。

野添義弘（のぞえよしひろ、1958年7月3日 - ）は、日本の男性俳優。スーパー・エキセントリック・シアター所属。大阪府出身。大阪電気通信大学高等学校卒業。
中年の小市民役を得意としていて、映画やドラマでも味のある脇役として活躍している。

上杉祥三（うえすぎしょうぞう、1955年12月14日 - ）は、日本の俳優、劇作家、演出家。

1981年青年座俳優養成所卒。同年に野田秀樹率いる劇団夢の遊眠社に入団。皿洗いのバイトをしながら演劇活動を続け、当時1300円のチケットだった遊眠社を日本で有数のトップ劇団へと成長させる。劇団の看板俳優として活躍。

1988年には上杉祥三プロデュースチーム結成。在団中よりシェイクスピア作品に傾倒し、1991年よりグローブ座カンパニーの座長としてシェイクスピアレパートリー公演を開始。若手随一のシェイクスピア俳優として注目される。

その後も舞台俳優として人気を博しつつ、映像でも活躍し、小説家、脚本家などもこなし、現在に至る。妻で俳優の長野里美と2002年より演劇ユニット・トレランスの活動も行っている。

かしまし娘（かしましむすめ）は、元松竹芸能所属の姉妹音曲漫才トリオ。
ギターと三味線を弾き、流行歌や浪曲を取り入れた音曲漫才。「〽ウチら陽気なかしまし娘誰が言ったか知らないが女三人寄ったら姦しいとは愉快だね。ベリーグッドベリーグッドお笑いお喋りミュージック明るく歌ってナイトアンドデイピーチクパーチクかしましい」でお馴染みのテーマソングは、音曲漫才師の都上英二の作曲、脚本家の大村淳一の作詞で、レコード化もされた。

道頓堀/角座がホームグラウンドで、松竹芸能の看板芸人だった。グループの名付け親は当時北野劇場の支配人だった角倉節朗（後の関西テレビ編成局長）。最初はカタカナ表記のカシマシ娘だったが、北野劇場が間違えて看板をひらがなで書いてしまい、この方が語感が良いとそのままになった。

漫才トリオとしてのかしまし娘は1981年を最後に休止し、現在は各々ピン・タレント・女優として活動しているが、不定期に喜劇の舞台公演を行ったり、テレビ番組やCMなどで3人揃って出演することがあり、ユニットとしては今なお健在である。

2018年には第21回上方演芸の殿堂入が決まった。

竹内都子（たけうちみやこ、1962年2月5日 - ）は、日本のお笑い芸人、女優、タレント、リポーターである。お笑いコンビ「ピンクの電話」のツッコミ担当。本名、菅原都子（すがわらみやこ）。旧姓、竹内。愛称は、みやちゃん。
大阪府吹田市出身。石井光三オフィス所属。大阪府立千里高等学校卒業。大阪芸術大学芸術学部舞台芸術学科演技演出専攻中退。夫は俳優の菅原大吉。
高校時代は、不良グループの一員で、先生に「もし、大学に入ったら逆立ちして校庭を回ったる」と言われ、猛勉強して大学に現役合格した。（逆立ちはしなかった）

大阪芸術大学中退後、新劇の本多スタジオを経て、1984年に「劇団七曜日」に入団。1986年に同期の清水よし子と「ピンクの電話」を結成。

ぽっちゃりした体型が特徴。一時期はたかの友梨のエステでダイエットに成功し、スリムな体型になったが後にリバウンドしている。

現在は単独での活動も多く、リポーターやバラエティ、舞台などに出演。リポーターで日本全国を旅していることから、食に関しての知識が豊富。自身の趣味を生かした、お取り寄せグルメ本『みやちゃんの一度は食べたい極旨お取り寄せ』（ブックマン社）を出版するなど、食のコメンテーターとしても活躍している。

2005年4月から大幅リニューアルされたテレビ朝日系列のアニメ『ドラえもん』のドラえもん役の声のオーディションに参加し、落選。しかし制作スタッフから「芝居の安定感がジャイアンの母が持つ厳しさ、優しさ、ユーモアなどの幅広さに向いている」ということで剛田武（ジャイアン）の母親役に抜擢された。テレビ朝日版としては初代の青木和代に代わり2代目。4月29日から出演。

豊川悦司（とよかわえつし、1962年3月18日 - ）は、日本の俳優。所属事務所はアルファエージェンシー。身長186cm、体重80kg。愛称は「トヨエツ」。
大阪府八尾市出身。八尾市立志紀中学校、大阪府立清水谷高等学校卒業、関西学院大学文学部中退。
大学在学中は演劇部に所属していた。

演劇集団円の研究生を経て、渡辺えり子主宰の「劇団3○○」に入団。

1992年、『NIGHT HEAD』に武田真治と共に主演して注目を浴びる。以後、20代女性を中心にブレイク。

1995年、『愛していると言ってくれ』にて耳が不自由な青年画家を演じ、障害を乗り越えながら愛を深めていく姿を演じ、最高視聴率28.1%を記録。

1997年にドラマ『青い鳥』のヘアメイクを担当していた女性と結婚し、一男一女を儲けたが、2005年12月31日に離婚、子供は妻が引き取った。

2008年、自宅でカキ鍋を食していたところ、突然体調を崩して救急車で病院に搬送されるという事態が発生した。原因は鍋の中の具材（どの具材が症状を引き起こしたかは不明）によるアナフィラキシーショックだったが、症状は軽く済んだ。

2011年、第36回湯布院映画祭にて『必死剣鳥刺し』『犯人に告ぐ』『傷だらけの天使』『今度は愛妻家』の4作品が特集上映される。上映後は行定勲監督とのトークショーが開催された。

2015年5月、元エステティシャンの女性との再婚と女児の誕生を公表。

俳優以外に、脚本や監督などの活動も行なっているが、バラエティ番組には滅多に登場しない。公私混同を非常に嫌がり、マスコミからの取材も断り、ミステリアスなイメージを堅守している。2016年9月2日、『あさイチ』内「プレミアムトーク」に出演してトーク番組に初出演を果たした。

村上ショージ（むらかみショージ、1955年5月28日 - ）は、日本のお笑いタレントであり、アイドルグループ吉本坂46のメンバーである。本名、村上昭二（むらかみしょうじ）。
愛媛県今治市出身。よしもとクリエイティブ・エージェンシー東京所属。血液型B型、身長164cm。すべり芸を得意とする。
村上ジョージは誤記。
瀬戸内海に浮かぶ伊予大島の愛媛県越智郡吉海町（現：今治市）で村上家の三男として生まれる。「昭和の時代に生まれ、常に二番手を走れ、という意味で昭二と名付けられた」と本人がたびたび話していたが、2007年3月3日放送の「MBSヤングタウン土曜日」で「本当は名前の由来は分からない。聞かれたときに何か答えなければならないと思い、そのように答えていた」と話し、名前の由来すらもネタにしていたことが発覚した。よく「村上ジョージ」と間違われ、一時期はこれを芸名にしていたこともあった。また村上水軍の末裔と語っていたこともあるが家系図などは見つかっておらず実際末裔かどうかは不明。

母を早くに亡くし、父も身体が悪く生活保護を受けた。中学卒業後、親戚の伝で広島県因島市（現：尾道市）に移り、因島高校の定時制に通いながら日立造船因島工場で溶接工として働いた。1976年、造船所の溶接仕事の合間に見た「ヤングおー!おー!」（毎日放送制作・TBS系）の明石家さんまを見て、「この人になろう!」と決意する。実は、それまでもお笑いをやりたくて、吉本に入りたくて仕方なかったが、父親が反対したため、親孝行のために地元で就職していた。しかし父親が亡くなって兄から「好きに生きろ」との許可が降り1977年、吉本入りを志願し大阪へ向かった。面接の時、吉本の面接官から「何ができる?」と問われ「溶接です」と答えた（この事から、初めて吉本から与えられた仕事は劇場の手摺の溶接だった）。

南翔太（みなみしょうた、1982年3月27日 - ）は、日本の俳優。愛知県幡豆郡幡豆町（現・西尾市）出身。芸映所属。身長177cm、体重60kg。愛知県立吉良高等学校、愛知学院大学卒業。
大学3年生のとき、小説『深夜特急』に影響されて海外旅行へ出向く。貧しい国を旅し、そこで出会った人々に笑顔を届けたいと思い俳優を志す。

2005年、舞台『秘密の花園』でデビュー。2007年、『ウルトラギャラクシー大怪獣バトル』の主演・レイ / レイモン役を務める。

2011年9月9日、ウルトラマンを歌うユニット・voyagerのスペシャル・クルーとして、東京ドーム『ウルトラマンナイター』のパフォーマンスでメンバーデビュー。

2012年6月、オフィスASOBOから芸映へ移籍。同月にタイ・マレーシアでのウルトライベントに参加。俳優を志すきっかけとなったタイでのステージ、そしてウルトラライブショー初上陸のマレーシアでのステージを披露した。

2012年より地元西尾市の西尾の抹茶PR大使、はずストーンカップチャレンジレースの顔「Mr.STONECUP」を務め、2013年より西尾市観光親善大使に任命される。

吉沢京子（よしざわきょうこ、1954年3月2日 - ）は、日本の女優。東京都板橋区出身。
デビューまで埼玉県戸田市に育つ。1966年（昭和41年）、12歳の時「劇団ひまわり」に3期生として入り、少女モデルとして活躍する。

1967年、東宝『燃えろ!太陽』で酒井和歌子の妹役で映画デビュー。その後、テレビコマーシャルに出演し、1968年には、NET（現テレビ朝日）『フルーツポンチ3対3』にレギュラー出演。

1968年、スナッキーガールズに参加。LPは「海道はじめ（坂越達明&スナッキーガールズ」名義、タイトルはスナッキーで踊ろう。（スナッキーガールズには他に小山ルミ、羽太幸得子が居た）

1969年、TBSの人気番組『柔道一直線』で、ヒロイン（ミキッペ）こと「高原ミキ」を演じる。

1971年、東宝の映画、16才シリーズ、日本テレビの『さぼてんとマシュマロ』に主演し、若者たちのアイドルとして活躍する一方、小林桂樹と共演した東宝映画『父ちゃんのポーが聞える』で、ハンチントン病に侵されながらも、父親に愛されて亡くなった少女・杉本則子を演じ（原作も松本の詩集）、文部大臣新人賞、エランドール賞新人賞を受賞する。ブロマイド俳優部門で売上1位になる。

以降、テレビ、舞台で時代劇を中心に、数多くの作品に出演。日本舞踊「西川流」の名取「西川舞左」でもある。現在、女優業に加え、着物のプロデュース業も展開している。

ギャグ漫画『ど根性ガエル』の作者の吉沢やすみもファンであり、同作に登場する京子ちゃんのモデルにもなっている。

私生活では、1983年に会社員（東宝）の男性と結婚、1985年に1男を儲けるが、1989年に離婚している。

福本伸一（ふくもとしんいち、1961年10月13日 - ）は、日本の俳優。ミーアンドハーコーポレーション所属。大阪府出身。早稲田大学教育学部卒業。
早稲田大学学生劇団「てあとろ50'」8期生。1期上に成井豊がいる。大学卒業後、「劇団ラッパ屋」の旗揚げに参加。その後、舞台、テレビドラマ、アニメーションなど幅広く活躍。

弘中麻紀（ひろなかまき、1969年11月12日 - ）は、兵庫県出身の女優。早稲田大学第一文学部卒業。身長155cm、体重48Kg。Me&Her コーポレーション所属。
